what would cause my chicks not to hatch?
i have been bating the same eggs for the last month, and there has NOT been a single change in my bator. the temp and humidity are staying right where they should be and every single one of my previous hatches were 100%. now on this set, i can not get them to even pip or peep!! i have now opened 2 of them that should have hatched on wednesday and they looked great just never tried to come out of the shell. what is going on here? what can i do?

Sometimes Thermometers and Hygrometers can be off, even though they appear to read the same. You can calibrate Hygrometers, do a search there is a thread on here somewhere. Hatching in cooler weather always, at least for me was more difficult. You may be losing temps at night and not realizing it and the eggs are slow.
I hatch with 3 different thermometers and 3 different hygrometers and average my reading, I get 80-100% hatches.

i use 2 and do the avg also. has always worked for me until now! my temp range is only 3 deg and humidity is only about 5.

i would lay blame on the thermometers. cheap digital ones from walmart are not relaible. trust me, learned the hard way

cracking up
Today 4:58 pm Did you scrub up and sanitize the bator after the last hatch?

---well i havent stopped hatching yet...lol!! i add 7 eggs every wednesday...and hatch 7 a week. so no i havent sanitized it since we started.
