Since you're not sure which breed your rooster is, that tells me he's an Easter egger. So, crossing him with red sex links will give you a grab bag of white, red and possibly black birds, it will just be a crapshoot as to color with all those mixed genetics. If he has a nice pea comb, you could get some green egg laying pullets from mixing them...again, kind of a crapshoot as to egg color, not knowing his genetic background. They'll probably be nice, colorful layers! The question when hatching is, what to do with the 50% roosters?
Thanks for the info! He does have a nice pea comb, and a wonderful personality! Hmm, yep, what to do with the extra boys! Hehe. My main want is egg production, regardless of color. So the possibly green egg layers excites me!
