What would I get?

My chickens are about 14 weeks old. I have a Partridge Rock rooster. He seems to like one of my EEs. They hang out together. What would they produce? And what about with a Light Brahma, a black austrolorp or a RIR? Just mutts?

Could you post a picture of the EE hen? If they are both dark, they will *probably* produce dark chicks. I can't remember which comb type and leg color is dominant, but I'm leaning towards the EE type.

You might be able to sell the EE chicks as EE crosses- and they'd most likely still lay colored eggs. The rest - hard to say what they'd look like- but they'd all be good layers. There's nothing wrong with "mutts"! Just like dogs- they don't inherit the problems of purebreds, and can still provide lots of eggs. I'd start with the EE and see how it goes- then if chicks sell....make more!

Yes the offspring would be what are usually referred to as 'mutts'. EE is more or less a name meaning 'mutts' descended from a blue egg laying breed.
EE chickens can be any colour & are usually a complete jumble of colours. With photograph one might possibly be able to give a rough estiate of what offspring could look like. Without a picture it is impossible.

Partridge rock crossed with black will give all black, if the black is 'pure' for black genes usually expected of blacks.

With a light brahma the offspring would be sex linked; the pullet offspring being gold & the males appearing silver (they'd be 'split' silver/gold). Not exactly sure how one pattern gene & one columbian gene would look. Possibly black markings in the plumage.

Similar with the RIR cross, but not sex linked, offspring being a red colour.
