The egg came from either a speckled Sussex or lavender Orpington Roo is either silver spangled Hamburg, cream legbar, or partridge penedesenca. Chick is all black with black legs. Thoughts on what breeds it is?

I'm guessing the silver spangled hamburg roo and the lavender hen, as lavender will produce black with anything other than another lavender. My slightly educated guess only! I am no expert.:)

Thanks! I’m going to go with orp as hen. I would think the hamburg or pene would be the roo....wouldn’t the legbar cause barring? I’m new to this so please forgive my ignorance

Chicken genetics are complicated! 😊There is a tool that many on the forum use that helps predict chick color based on the parents coloring. I still could not wrap my head around it!😂
