Are crawling in your ears?

I have had this problem for years. My left ear always feels like it has bugs moving around in it. Sometimes, especially at night, it drives me insane and I cannot sleep. I clean my ears with one of those wash things but the problem comes back. In case you're wondering, no bugs have ever come out of my ears. lol

Year round allergies?

I was diagnosed with TMJ, could that be the cause?

Could it possibly be some type of nerve damage? Like maybe your ear drum has a little defect or something?

I don't know. My ears, especially left one will feel red hot on the outer area. It sometimes gets swollen too. The pain usually happens in the morning when I wake up. I found something called "chronic otitis externa" which has a lot of my symptoms. It never really occurred to me to see a doctor about it. I might go to the health department and have them check me out.

I typed into Google "feels like bugs crawling" and the third search term was "feels like bugs crawling in left ear". Apparently its pretty common, lol.

I never went to the doctor for it. Oh man, that'd be awful. They start flushing my ear out and all these gobs of mites fall out.

I saw that on a show once. It had set up residence in this kid's ear. I knew a woman that had a roach in her ear once, too.
