What would you call this color?

This bantam cochin guy is 7 wks this week. Def. a boy! Anyway, what color is this? I got him at Tractor Supply.

I think that would be Birchen, but I am no Cochin expert.

Aha!! I think your right! I was just comparing baby pics of him to birchens. Here he is as a baby.

WEll, I guess I don't have a pic of him as a baby on this comp, but he had a lot of black over his body w/a little white under his chin and down his chest. Looked just like birchen cochin chicks. I thought he would have been a black when I got him, definitely pleasantly surprised!

Are you sure that isn't a Dark Brahama?
That is what it looks like to me.
