I was just going through and deleting some subscribed threads, and I was wondering what you ended up doing to the coop. Post some photos!

We're actually still working on it :/ We're trying to figure out the best way to get concrete in there with all the asphalt shingles being about 6-8" deep. We're hoping to have it finished (mostly) in the next couple weeks - but I promise to put up pictures when we get there!!

I was reading here as well. I noticed no one addressed the fact that preditors dig under coops. I would put down some wire and then put the sand on top of that,then the wood chips. You do not want large wood rats, weasels etc going under the coop at night. Keeping out preditors before they kill is easier than losing really valuable hens later.
