The Powerball jackpot is up to 550 million dollars. The odds of winning are small but it is enough to make people be willing to take the risk and buy a ticket. I personally dont gamble but when it gets to be a large jackpot I wonder...

...just what would I do with that much money? A lot of people who have poorer morals have wasted it all away but I dont think I would. My fiancee once gave me 500 dollars to spend to buy a whole new wardrobe for myself...I couldnt spend it. I spent 200 dollars at one store and bought more clothes than I ever could need and felt guilty. When he came home from work I told him I tried but I couldnt spend it and I didnt want his money. Shortly after I was met with a wedding proposal. I guess my point is that my fiancee had given me a test. He wanted to see if I was still the same person with money to blow and it worked. Because I was. I didnt want to blow that money all on myself. I still shopped the bargin racks because thats how you get the most for the least amount.

I think if I won we would put some in accounts towards our future children's education but then just retire. I'd continue to work but I love my job and I only work twice a week. The rest would just be to live on; perhaps investing in real estate; but mostly to just live comfortably.

But thats our story. What would you do if you won that much money?

I think 20 acres of flat land woukd be enough, mayve 30. But id also need electricity which easily is like 30 grand, and importing birds is very expensive so a lot would go towards those, especially some of the really hard to get ones
And taxes would have to come out of that. It would be at least 20% less than 550 million, probably closer to 30-40%

I wouldnt import because of expenses. Id just start new. We've had this discussion because we might move to Texas. Our property tax right now on 5 acres is low but I guess I didnt accomodate for that. More land is better

If I won that, I would take the lump sum, which would only be about half of that after taxes. I too would buy a bigger plot of rural land and build more coops and flock's. I'm already getting old, so the house wouldn't have to be extremely fancy, just comfortable.

I'd have 30-50 acres and a simple life. Extra money would be invested so I could live off the interest. It'd be trusted so my future generations could have income from it perpetually. If my line doesn't continue, it'll fund some charitable interests of mine.

I would definitely like to have enough land to raise dairy and beef cattle. I think I'd definately be willing to spend that. We dont have any pasture land right now so thats impossible for us

Kinda hard to just recreate a breed. And even with just 100 million, I could do at least one or two I'm sure for my own flock to start
