What would you get

if the silkie is recessive white, then all female chicks will be Hemizigous barred, you will see lots of barring...but if the roo is Dominat white then you will see lots of white chiks with some black and some barred spots...good luck:p

Since white is an OFF switch, it is impossible to know what colour and pattern genes the white bird carries. And therefore it is imposssible to predict how the genes will interact with those of the barred bird. Barring is incompletely dominant, so it should show, but there could well be competing patterns that will mess up the integrity of the pattern.

For instance (and I really have no idea of the answer), if a bird is B/b Pg/pg, what will the pattern be? How about if you add Ml? And/or Co? What about Bl/Bl?

Suze is saying that with a recessive white bird, such as a white silkie, the plumage colour results cannot be certain. However one entirely possible result would be black barred males, & black females. Most probably, as Nicaladia explained the other day, the pullets would be dark skinned the males light, the chicks would possibly have some form of crest, feathered legs & 5 toes.
