FYI, shipping in plain brown boxes is often cheaper then the white priority boxes, which are usually cheaper then the flat rate boxes. Just make sure you tell the PO you still want it shipped priority. I was told this by the lady behind the counter when I took my Bake swap boxes the other week. You can also ship books cheaper by telling them they can ship it as Media Mail. It takes about 5-7 days, I just shipped 6.5 lbs of books for $4, lady said it would have been $11, even as "regular mail". I also wrapped a priority flat rate box in brown paper (still sent it priority) and it was $3 cheaper that the flat rate box woud have been.

Be careful wrapping the Post office boxes. I did that and mine caught me. They took the paper off and said that is not allowed. Also I am not sure how shipping in a plain box apposed to a priority box and you are shipping them priority mail changes the price. Especially if you are paying online and the computer don't see the box. Maybe I misread the message but it don't make sense.

i believe when on line you need to measure and weigh the box and sometimes it is cheaper then the frb to ship with a regular box priority that is smaller and not real heavy.
i too was told not to use the frb as a regular post box with the paper on it.also i would gently tear the one side open and turn it inside out and retape and use the closers on the ends.they didnt like that either.

i suppoise they see it all.
