I do not understand how I am supposed to feed my chick,should they only have a certain amount of food,or is more food better???

FROM MY EXPERIENCE THEY EAT UNTIL THEY ARE FULL. I DON'T THINK YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PORTION CONTROL.

Give laying hens or chicks feed 24/7. Hens rarely get fat--they'll eat until they have satisfied their needs. If you withhold feed from them or just feed a set amount, you can lower your number of eggs or cause a chick's growth to stall.
