Whatcha Making for Supper?

I live semi-rural in a small farm town.
I often by supper the same day. The store is like 4 minutes from my house. And they have pretty good meats.

And until the town store stopped carrying Dean milk, I was probably good for Walmart maybe 3-4 times a year. TP, deodorant, toothpaste... typical dry goods I can stock up on for the year. And even groceries on occasion, like rice, Ro-Tel, pantry stuff, whole chicken wings, their produce is better than the local store's...

But now I'll have to go to Walmart more often. So I'm sure my food habits will change.

Not once a week though. That would be ludicrous for a single guy

I would love to have a store 4 minutes away!!! But, we are not leaving this place any too soon. We love our country living.

I hear that!
There are many times I wish I lived more on the outskirts. With the neighbors more like a mile away instead of a hundred yards or so.
But the older I get the more I see myself sitting on my tractor going to the store. And that could be a long ride

When I was much younger, on weekend we drove to country towns, had breakfast there, enjoy the fresh air and the whole of serene atmosphere. We wanted to move in the country town, but we were young with jobs in the city and taking on a 2nd mortgage is not possible. Then we got older, we need to be in the city for hospital, specialist and no longer take long drive into the country town anymore, I cant sit in the car for long drive as my legs all numb up.

There's that, too.
It can take a while (by my neck of the woods standards) to get to the hospital in an emergency. Especially when the emergency ambulance only drives you far enough to transfer you to someone else... My sister and BIL made it to the hospital before I did eight years ago when I had a little problem. I told them they should have just drove me in themselves, lol.
