Irish cottage pie. My roommate loves it. I make a big batch so we have leftovers for a few days.

What is the difference between Cottage pie and Shepherd's pie? Both sound good to me.

I could be wrong, but I think a "true" shepherd's pie is made using lamb, and a cottage pie is made using ground beef.

Our daughter wants to cook tonight sounds good to me
She is doing a fried cabbage dish with rice, cheese and hamburger mixed into it. I will probably make the homemade cornbread to go with it.

But the Irish has me thrown. For all I know it's made with corned beef.

This is correct. We're not big fans of lamb so we prefer cottage pie.
