Whats a good all purpose breed??

Im interested in getting some more chickens but was wondering what a good all purpose breed that is good for both meat and eggs would be. I have buff orpingtons now and I know that they are for both meat or eggs but I want somthing different.

They are dual purpose, also.

Also, black chickens look good with the buffs - like Australorps or Jersey Giants. I think Australorps mature a little faster than the Giants do, though. (I could be wrong on that, however).

Any color of the Plymouth Rock of Wyandotts. They each have 5 to 7 color variations. Sussex has three color variations here in the US.

Leghorns are really good chickens.

I, personally, am partial to australorps. The tend to be plump, dependable layers, markedly intelligent, and have beautiful plumage.

You might try some other color varieties of orpingtons.
