What's a good rat bait?

Good luck! I am gonna set off 4 rat traps out in my barn tonight. I saw the rat poo so I know it is out there somewhere---GRRRRRR!

trie the peanut butter and plaster of paris, didn't work so i just went back to the poision bars, I cut a piece and put it in a coffee can with a small hole in the lid so the chickens couldn't get at it. still have rat, guess they have gotten immune to everything. marrie

The best bait we have found so far is chicken scratch. We have had the best luck with scratch, and for the longest amount of time too.

I had chip munks in my walls storing peach seeds,they sure made alot noise. Caught 5 in a rat trap baited with whole kernel corn even caught a mole.Just place a small pile of corn over the trap trigger.my trapp was outside the house by a opening in my cider block foundation. Good luck
