One of our Welsummer hens has a foot problem that appears to be progressive. When we bought her one toe on each for would curl slightly, but if she was perched on my finger, they gripped normally.
Over time, the ime got became increasingly bent and her range of motion gradually became less. Then she stopped being able to straighten the bent toe on her other foot and now it's becoming more bent over time.
She walks and runs normally so it doesn't appear to bother her and my husband is unconcerned with the way it's changing.
They're not swollen, but the more contractures foot is cooler to the touch.
Why are her feet doing this? Will she be able ro roost on a 2×4 when the coop is finished?
