What's in my egg?

I found this in an egg today. What is it?

I'm no expert, but I think it's a fetus. If someone else says it isn't a baby chick- then it probably isn't. But that's just my best guess. Which my guess isn't very good.

Which is impossible, of course, if you don't have a rooster...

It was in the white of the egg. This might be a better pic.

My next best guess then is instead of the chick itself, the chick's 'umbilical cord' before the chick is developed. I'm sure there's somewhere online that says what the scientific name of it is.
