What's in the moat?

Uhhh....Everyone.......the moat is freshwater, not saltwater....

No it cannot be salty-fresh

No it cant be freshy-salt

It cant even be brimey

and NO I cannot fine tune the moat to be 1/2 salt 1/2 fresh.....

What kind of moat mucker are you??? We have two concentric moats, one freshwater, the other saltwater. You mean you haven't been cleaning the saltwater moat????
 
According to what I just read, the venom is formed by bacteria in the octopus's salivary glands (gee, I didn't know an octopus had salivary glands!). Also, the main element involved is tetradotoxin, which is the toxin that makes puffer fish so dangerous (ever hear of fugu?).
