Whats Involved with Showing Bantam Chickens?

I'm new to the chicken game and i love my little bantams and want everyone to see that

So whats involved with showing chickens??

If I were going to show the first thing I would do was to read the SOP (standard of perfection) and see how closely my birds match that. Some faults will probably be seen but you want to get as close as possible.

I would make sure the bird is clean. Free from external or internal parasites to show off the best of the bird. File the toenails down to a nice length and round down the beak to the correct length.
Make sure the bird can be handled without too much hassle and carry it around and keep petting it so the feathers have a nice gloss to them. I'm not sure about all breeds but a judge probably does not want to have to chase it around the cage too much to get his hands on it. Train it in a wire cage and feed it treats at the front of it's cage so it will come up when approached.

There are probably many things you can do to a bird to get it more ready than this but I find a lot of stuff extremely unfair in the competition ring. I have shown a lot of different species but never fowl.
