LOL! I laugh because you're giving an exact description of my girls.
I have RIR's and Golden Comets (yes, red sex link)... and that's what they do!
Mostly the dominant ones though, and more often in the mornings.
That's just how they are. It's basically the same noise they'll make if they are startled or warning the others.
But, when they start up with the morning whooping.. there's not much you can do but let them get it out of their systems.
Same with the squatting. I call it the "thunder dance" because they usually squat low, pick their wings up a bit, and stomp their feet.
It's just their way of telling you to go away.
My girls have always been handled and follow me around like a bunch of puppies, and they still do it if I lean over to pick them up.

Sounds like you just have normal, vocal chickens.
Oh, and my earliest start at laying was 15 weeks, with the latest starting at 18 weeks.
