What's my chickens gender

To be fair….. mine have a trill the let out right after they’ve settled in to roost. Not at all a growl, Maybe……. Like saying rrrrrrrrrrrrrr on an exhale through a fan.

Mine do too- but it's not gender related, nor called purring, lol!

Mine do that too. That's what I meant by trilling thing. Mine also do it at night when they hear or see something scary.

mine trill when they are about to sleep, too. but if i make even a noise, they stop. this is hard to figure out.
