Too early, I think. I've been trying to read up on Silkies. It's my understanding that some birds do not come into their own until Year 2.

I think your chick is a cockeral. The poof looks like a bike helmet, rather than a tennis ball. Since DD & I are testing our "sexing by poof" method, I would be very pleased if you would PM me to let us know how s/he turns out.
