Actually joined here about 10 years back and although I thought I put in an intro, it seems I didn't so, since I FINALLY took the plunge yesterday, I thought it was a good time to re-introduce myself. City guy with a country soul who grew up in the NYC burbs but traveled to family in Southern Italy every summer where grandma (or Nonna) kept A LOT of chickens. I loved tending them, helping her with all the chores and, years ago, decided that it was time to do it here back home in the US. It took a while (kids were too young, no time etc) and although re-visited each year, we finally picked up our 6 chicks yesterday. The run and coop are ready for when they are done in their new brooder home. I've been back here frequently researching and have to say that you folks are AWESOME and very helpful. I'm sure to be a more active member now so apologies in advance if I have any questions for things that are freaking me out! Ha Ha
