Background info: Chesta is a 1 year old serama mix. She has always had a reddish spot on her beak, but I thought it was nothing but a genetic flaw. On Sunday I noticed that she had a black scab on her beak. I also noticed that she would sometimes flick her head, as if she could feel it. I cleaned it a bit, and I again noticed that she would pull away when it was touched. So, my question is, what is this thing? Should I do anything about it? If so, what?

(Sorry if the pictures aren't the best. I'll take some more soon.)

It is close to the nostril. As long as the nostril is open so she can breathe normally, I would not worry about it much. It may have been pecked or injured.
I agree with @Eggcessive it looks like a scrape or injury to the beak. Could be from a feeder or wire fencing.
Check it in a few days, it should be healing over fine.
Thanks for the info, I'll make sure to check on her in a few days. I think it's most likely from the wire on her pen. She only has one flockmate, a bantam rooster.
