What's on your Thanksgiving menu?

We will have lots of family and maybe some friends over, so the menu gets pretty large.

Pumpkin pie
Apple pie
Peach pie
Scalloped corn
Green bean casserole
Vegetable tray
Relish tray
Homemade cranberry sauce
Squash
Rolls
Mashed potatoes
Potato salad
Jello of some sort
Gravy
Turkey

These are great! Terrie, I love peach pie. That sounds awesome; I think I'll have to talk with the family about possibly adding that to the menu.

I am still looking for inspiration for ours

I am making 2 turkeys ( 1 for left overs we never have any)
Glazed ham
probably a corn bread stuffing
mozarella smothered mushrooms
pumpkin pie
potato salad ( real austrian style, homemade mayo and german mustard its really so very good)
cranberry sauce out of the can because my husband and nephew will only eat it that one way
Something with sweet potatoes ( I cannot find a recipe everyone likes. One group will gag at nuts, another at marshmellows, another because the sweet potatoes do not have either of these and then my mother gagging because I even bother to serve them) I had a recipe for a custard like dish that most liked but cannot find it.
Corn pudding

And this is as far as I have gotten ( sigh)

I know I need some leafy salad, and at least1 green veggie dishe but I have not got that far yet. We have 30 or so coming again this year and trying to come up with a menu where everyone will eat is a challenge. Everyone always seems to be on a different diet, food allergy, health program blah blah blah.

I am curious about the scalloped corn. I will have to look at some recipes.

Scalloped corn is really easy. Adjust the following for the amount of people, this feeds about 8:

One can creamed corn
One can regular corn
Two eggs
Whipping cream or half and half
Saltine crackers
Black pepper

Butter a baking dish or this will REALLY stick to it! Mix corn and eggs thoroughly. Mix in cream and black pepper. Crush saltine crackers and mix in to desired consistency. Bake in 350º oven for 45 minutes or so, till top is a bit browned and crusty.

It's just me and DH for Thanksgiving, like it is every year. So we just get something outrageously decadent. Lobster, prime rib, or whatever. It's a lonely time though...Thanksgiving, to me, is meant for families and gathering together...

I have a very small family (theres 3 of us) but I still like to cook a full Thanksgiving meal for traditions sake. I don’t remember a lot of big happy thanksgivings when I was young so I want my daughter to have what I didn’t. My menu is still in the works but this is what I have so far.

Turkey-which I will dispatching and brining myself
Glazed carrots
Collard greens
Green bean casserole
Garlic mashed potatoes
Giblet gravy
Cornbread dressing
Cranberry sauce
Pumpkin pie
Apple Crisp

Edited to add: and a salad of course!

Everyone's menus sound soo yummy!

We have an insane amount of food for our Thanksgivings.

Smoked turkey & gravy
crock-pot stuffing
dressing
mashed potatoes
sweet potato casserole
corn casserole
broccoli casserole
cranberry chutney
rolls
baked beans (I always laugh at this one but they're my sisters favorite)

several different desserts - usually a pumpkin pie, a cheesecake and something with chocolate.

can't wait!

I just ordered my turkey (free-range, organic, all that jazz). I generally brine the turkey overnight.
Stuffing - haven't decided yet what kind.
Mashed potatoes
Yams
green bean casserole (you know the one, with fried onions and cream-o-mushroom soup?)
homemade cranberry sauce
homemade bread
homemade apple pie (I prefer apple over pumpkin)
mulled cider

Oh, and, devilled eggs.

Pretty simple. I just have to be careful to not *overcook* since we're a small group.

Too bad you two don't live closer.

Back in the early 80's my ex and I were stationed away from family, so we had open house for those airmen away from home and we would have anywhere from 5 to 30 for dinner.

I have continued that to this day. I always make a huge Thanksgiving feast and if I hear you are in the area and don't have other plans...drop in and eat!
