What's on your Thanksgiving menu?

It's just me and DH for Thanksgiving, like it is every year. So we just get something outrageously decadent. Lobster, prime rib, or whatever. It's a lonely time though...Thanksgiving, to me, is meant for families and gathering together...

Sounds like a road trip Buffy and Speckled hen. Here are the directions, get on I 95 and go south until you don't see any snow then go about one state more south, turn left at Rocky Mount, NC and head east. If you drive your car into the ocean you have gone to far, turn around and back track about an hour. Just ask for the crazy people that live if the woods with the birds. Make sure you mention the birds! If you just ask for the crazy people that live in the woods you will probably never been seen again..... it is North Carolina after all.

The menu

Home grown Midget White turkey (since we will be having company feathers removed)

Scalloped oysters
Cheese Bisquits
Green bean casserole
Sweet potatoes
Corn bread stuffing
Cranberry sauce
Giblet gravy
Apple and Pumkin pie
Nice light and fruity white wine

Oysters on the 1/2 shell as a warm up to go with the steamers that Buffy is bringing

We give the same directions when people come to see us! We say, if you go too far east or west, your tires will be wet. (The Cape is only about 2 miles wide where we are.)

Steve, I'm also bringing fresh picked cranberries, some chocolate covered blueberries, and smoked bluefish pate' (like it or not!).

Why am I not surprised by this? And why are you involving the rest of your family members in a category only you have perfected.

Turkey
Turkey gravy
Sage stuffing
Homemade applesauce
Mashed potatoes with cheese and onions
Green beans with slivered almonds browned in butter
Mixed greens salad with homemade ranch dressing
Rolls
Deviled eggs
Chocolate chip cookies (for the grandson)
Pumpkin pie
Lemon pie
Apple pie

We usually have between 12-15 people, so we have our dinner on Saturday following Thanksgiving, and I cook for two days prior. THEY clean up.

Oh good call on the deviled eggs! I finally have fresh eggs so I better put them to good use. My girls will love showing off for company.
