I am looking to move my flock of layers to my overgrown, fenced in garden. My question is what can I leave in there and what should I remove. I know tomato plants are poisonous, amongst some other plants, but I want to hear everyone's opinion who is willing to help and share. Thanks in advance!

I would remove:
any mature beans, maybe mature peas
four o'clocks, foxgloves
Jimsonweed, Milkweed, Pokeweed

I wouldn't remove tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, or eggplant. They are poisonous but the chickens would need to eat a lot of them and they are bitter.

There are other poisonous weeds and flowers but they are one or more of these: don't grow around here, don't grown in gardens much (don't like disturbed soil, aren't palatable, aren't available this time of year, and so on)

Edit to add: thanks, SandyRiverChick. Especially good to know about the foxgloves. They would be what I least wanted to remove.

Ok! Thank you so much and for your reply!

This made me think about the fact that when my garden is done for the year I open the gate and Chickens have their way with it all winter. I've never removed anything. So I thought about that for a sec but I'm really not going to. I do have foxglove, beans and peas but they seem to know what to eat and what to scratch up/kill....
