Hi I have a single guinea fowl boy who I hatched and he has been raised in a flock of chooks sadly a dog attack long story. has left just him and one hen. He has been making these sounds usually when he breaks into the house. What are these sounds about any ideas? I want to add a video but its not letting me it sounds like little pep pep whistle. Thanks for any help.

To upload a video, you first have to upload it to Youtube or another video hosting site. You can then link it to here. BYC does not host videos but will display the video from the link that you provide.

It sounds very similar to the almost non stop chatter that goes on between my guineas. Guineas seem to never shut up. The hens are either "buckwheating" or joining the males in their alarm call but the rest of the time they are all, including the males, just continually chatting with low pleasant sounds.

He is probably trying to talk to what he considers his flock.

I interpret the "woo woo woo" whistle as "This is good; I'm really happy"

The short little "chuck, chuck" sounds are like, "I'm content; check this out." They seem to me like a way to communicate attention back and forth to one another.

I am not an expert, but do spend way too much time observing my guineas. :D
