wow - which is more important - - -Friendly or prettiest?

I have EE's, Marans, Leghorns, and Wyandottes.

The friendliest are the EE's by far.

The prettiest are the Wyandottes.

all depends on what you like and are looking for... color, type, build, pet vs. livestock, Laying ablility, growth rate, size, temperment... you need to take all these into consideration to find the breed that best suits what you are looking for.

ETA: as far as looks I like longtails and game cocks, broodiness I like Buff Cochins and BTW Japanese, Layers I like White leghorns, Meat: cornish rock X. My favorite colors in general are Crele, Black Breasted Red, and Golden Duckwing. I also like self blue, blue, slpash, and sexlinks...because I like to play with genetics.

This must be the fourth thread with this question in the past week. Here's the answer - It depends on what you are looking for. Everyone has preferences, and mine are for rare breeds with great personality and a certain classiness - Like Brahmas, Ameraucanas (real ones, not Easter Eggers even though I do like those too) Polish, and Marans. (not cuckoo though, they are so common and often so low in quality)

So, it really depends - Do you just care for eggs, or do you like a pretty bird (and, beauty is in the eye of the beholder

) or a dual purpose bird, or. . . It depends on the person.

I like rare breeds, often ones with either beards/muffs or feathered shanks or crested tops. Usually has to have one or more of those qualities.

I like my EEs for their myriad of colors, both feathers and eggs. I like my Australorp just because she is so beautiful. I like my black sex-link because she is the sweetest chicken I have ever had. I don't know that I could pick a favorite, or best, breed.
