What's the best feed?

Hey everyone! Well first time chicken owner found her wondering the streets and she's become a lovely pet. What is a less messy feed for my chicken. I got mash feed for her but she tends to make a messjust pecking it all out of the bowl I have it in. She has started laying eggs already if that matters on what feed is best and less messy. I do have her roam the backyard so she's not always kept inside

You can buy a pelleted feed. (flock raiser or layer pellets)

I give my girls organic layer crumbles. Chickens always make a mess, they’re not the tidiest animals. Make sure your chicken also has oyster shell, so she does not deplete her own body when she is making her eggs.
