Whats the best place to get egg cartons??

Once your friends and neighbors know that you need egg cartons, you'll be inundated! I use clean, used ones to store my eggs in the fridge. I use a marker on the side of the cardboard box to keep track of when the eggs were collected. I do like to use new clear plastic cartons for the few sales that I do and to gift the eggs (with homemade labels.) Egg cartons are pricey, but most people return my cartons to me. To purchase new ones, people at eggcartons.com are local and very nice.

Friends, family, and coworkers have set me up for the next year with egg cartons - both the dz and the 1 1/2 dz cartons. Also, there is a recycling center in my area that advertises on Craigslist - the cardboard and the styrofoam kinds are each available free. I called to find out if there was a limit to how many a person could take and the gentleman laughed! He said he has stacks upon stacks. I could take as many as I wanted. You might want to check out centers in your area. You could also put a 'wanted' ad on Craigslist. Before I got chickens I used to trade egg cartons for eggs . . . that could work out for you as well, if you don't mind trading vs. cash.
