All this chicken talk has my mind working over time.
Im sure there is some chicken science of what day of the year you should start chicks to get maximum eggs out of a chicken in its two or three years. What ever it is. I bet its slightly different in the south from the north.
Im going to take a guess and say some were around September or October for the South because that would give your young chicken the longest time to lay eggs before there first grown winter and molt.
Please comment if you know for sure I live in central Florida so winter is over for the most part at the end of Feb.
