What's the best virus protection for dial up? & some techie help

ya need a proggy like "Download Accelerator" ,, it downloads stuff for ya,, and if something happens and you loose your connection, it will resume where it got interrupted.

Also, some viruses inhibit the computer from visiting anti-virus software sites. Not saying that this is what is happening, but some do.
