I have a 3-year-old BO that isn't doing well. I've given up trying to find out what's wrong with her, so now I'm just focusing on trying to help her put some weight on. She seems to be eating well, but when I pick her up her keel bone is so sharp :(

If you want her background you can read it in this post: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...r-advice-pics-new-pics-in-post-4#post_9249369

The nutshell is - I had 3 three-year-old chickens, one got super skinny and died. I have 2 left - a BO and a BR. The BR seems fine. She's definitely gaining weight. The BO is still very skinny.

Neg at vet for worms.
No signs of mites.
Treated for coccidia with corid (per vet).

So any way to fatten her up??? Ideas??? I wonder if I should call the vet for bird abc just to give it a shot.... at this point I have nothing to lose. She seems to be eating treats and food just fine.

Thanks in advance!!!!

(I should add that I put it in this category and not 'feeding your flock" bc I know she's sick, so I was hoping there was a way to make a sick, skinny chicken fatter).

what i would do is try to give her meat scraps or some formulated food. you could search on the internet for chicken feed formulated for gaining weight.

good luck
