Whats the best way to prottect chickens from goshawks

I have lost 3 chickens due to goshawks last year

Keeping them in a secured run is the only real way to protect from birds of prey. Even constant vigilance is not enough with free rangers because goshawks are very stealthy and can strike in the blink of an eye.

I think that the European Union has laws similar to the USA regarding not molesting hawks. And anyway there are fox and other canids, mustelids, and lots of other predators. Depending on how many chickens you have, maybe losing 3 is a reasonable price to pay for free ranging. I've lost more that that to dogs this year.

Otherwise, penned into a coop works. Especially against avian predators. As predators go, avians are fairly easy to defeat. They don't have the option to be persistent, they don't dig, they don't chew through things.
