Whats the cost to buy a pecock is it expensive and do they bond to their owners

They can bond to their keepers. Peafowl can be expensive depending on the age, variety, and gender.

We tell first time owners to start with India Blue as they are the most common and least expensive. If you are wanting a bird that will interact with you then you need to find a breeder that works with their birds to make them that way from hatch. Occasionally an older bird will befriend you but that is rare. There are risks involved with taming a peacock as they can, but not always, become territorial during the breeding season and try to chase you out of their domain. Hens will remain friendly but they will become aggressive to all other birds, mostly other hens. We sell our young IB pairs for $225, you can use that as a guide and find them much cheaper on Craigslist but as with everything on CL, buyer beware. We do not raise many IB here at Spring Creek Peafowl, mostly rare colors and patterns are raised here that does increase the cost but that is because of their uniqueness.

I usually advise against getting birds that are too tame as they end up causing alot of trouble. As for expense it all depends on what variety you get. IB's are the cheapest but it's tricky to find good ones.

yeah you definitely cant get a run of the mill peafowl and expect it to be a lap bird. they're more skittish than chickens. I would recommend getting a peachick if you want a friend.
