What's the deal with this chick?

She is so much smaller than the rest of my ladies and they were all born Jan 20th. She has an almost pink purple comb and no waddles to speak of!

She was supposed to be a barred rock hen.

Maybe she's a black Sumatra? They have dark skin and legs. Shes for sure not a barred rock, lol.

Where did she come from? Is she a hatchery bird or from a backyard breeder?

She came from a feed store so I'll assume a hatchery. She's very tiny. Almost looks like a crow. She's very quiet too.

She didn't look like any of those pics when she was a baby. Just a fluffy little all black chick. I bought 3 "barred rock hens " one is a roo, one is a barred rock and I have no idea what this little girl is.

Could be a black Copper Marans, they look a lot like Barred rocks when they are chicks, just with no white head spot. I see a slight hint of red in her hackles.

with that history, my best guess is black sex link, especially if she's getting some red in the collar.

She could be a Black Sex Link, does she have a pea comb? If so she could be a Sumatra. As Sumatras have pea combs.
