what's the deal?

the winds are soft, and the temp has cooled down this morning to 77 with 58% humidity, and all my girls are out in their 'front yard' sitting on the ground! They are so funny! Can't snap a pic to share because as soon as I go out the door, they are up and running to the corner of the run.....just in case I'm bringing treats( which I usually do!). Just sitting, no dusting or scratching a wallow, just sittin all in a row! What kinds of unusual behavior do your ladies have?

I can't figure out why, on a hot, 90' day, my chickens will find the only sunny spot (much of their run is shaded), lie in the sun piling just about on top of each other sprawling out with wings spread open.... and pant.
DUH.
