I was trying to figure out what duck breed is quietest and looked it up on Google and found that they said that Campbell's are a quiet breed are there any other quiet breeds? And what is the difference between a mallard a Rowan and a Campbell?

Here is a link to a pretty good breed comparison chart. Once you are there you can also click into each breed for further info.

I have not had rouens or mallards in my flock so I can’t really comment on their personalities or anything. Campbell’s are flighty/skittish, chatty, and excellent layers, though their eggs aren’t that large (about the same size as my chicken eggs).

My Kahki campbell was the one i always heard first, But others say their quiete. Not as loud as my chicken hens though

KCs are small but built for laying eggs, Some claim 250 to 300 a year!

Mallards are like wild mallards, They are small and have great charms

Rouens are like domesticated mallards, They look like mallards but are bigger

Out of the three i couldnt say which ones the loudest! Hopefully others can say

For mallard or rouen ducklings, Notice the eye stripes

Didnt mean to post on top of you!

I’ve had all three of these breeds. The KCs are exactly as described above; great layers but skittish. The Rouen is a bigger duck. I only have drakes, so I don’t know about laying capacity. The Mallard we had was a drake and he loved to bite your ankle. I have found them all to be talkative but no where near as noisy as my chickens, especially the roosters. I think the Rouens are the most talkative out of the bunch and the KCs the least but they all talk when they see us coming with the food bucket.

KC is the loudest we had but the Rouens talk more. Since Spring arrived, I do not hear a lot of full quacks just clucks mostly. The Pekin we named Quackers never quacks anymore. She just clucks and wags her tail when she sees us.

I only have mallards so I can’t pitch in about the others, but mallards are great pets and fairly quiet. When the females want to talk about something though- they will! Also with mallards, be aware that they can fly unlike many other types of ducks:)
