I've been trying to find Sweet PDZ bc I've read that some of you use it, and their website was convincing. However, I can't find any locally. I can however, find Stall Dry and the feed store assured me that it's the same thing.

Is this true?

I think what the feed store meant is that they DO the same thing, control odor. However, they are not exactly the same thing. Sweet PDZ is zeolite. Stall Dry is a mixture of DE and clay.

Zeolite is crystallized volcanic mineral. DE, Diatomaceous Earth, consists of fossilized remains of diatoms, crushed fossils of freshwater organisms and marine life.

I've never used Stall Dry (couldnt find it here) but I have used something similar to Sweet PDZ, not in the chicken coop, but we used it in the hogs stall in the barn. I went to the feed store and where they keep bags of horse stall deodorizer, I looked at the back labels on the packages and found one that was zeolite.

As I said, we used it in the hog stall and I couldnt believe it. We used it for months and there was practically no odor and the fly population was decreased dramatically. We bought it in 25# bags and it has the consistency of sand.

I think both products, Sweet PDZ and Stall Dry, are equally effective.
