I have heard about the dry method of incubating and the wet method of incubating. Whats the difference? I have a LG still air incubator with egg turner. What is the difference between the 2 methods and witch method is better for my incubator?

Hello, I have an LG....this is what I found that works for me and my Lg...start out Dry incub....turn it on, run it for 48hrs or so..to regulate temps and humidity...red plugs out...get it as close as you can to 99.5-100.0 you want to try and keep (for me) humidity 35-38%, if it goes to 41% its ok. Red plugs have to stay out, chicks need oxygen.
Run it 1-18days dry at those temps....DO NOT OPEN AT "ALL" if it needs water you put it in through the little holes ontop, I use a tiny hose.
on day 18, take turner out, and put one teasp. water in the smallest well...cover. Watch humidity when its time to bump it up always through the hose, and a little at a time, into the next smallest well. Your room temp regulates your incubators settings...you control your temps/humidity via the room. This morning my bator was at 100.00 41%...so I dropped my a/c down to 80, 20mins later my readings were: 99.6 41%

I have all my notes but this is how I work mine...I been reading, talking, researching on LG's...

dry means little or no water in the incubator the first 18 day keeping the humidity around 30%.

You would have to find a local to give you advice on how well it works where you are.

Can I put a wet sponge in the incubator on day 18 when I take out turner? I have heard that works. Is that okay?

Maxx, do you see the Red Plugs???
