What is the difference between a cock, roo, and a stag? Are they just the same thing?

I just have to brag on this too...........

I know people on this message board are the only ones who can understand me getting all exited about this. [IMG] [IMG]

No difference really. Just different names you can call them. Like Mountain Lion and Puma (forgot the third name [IMG]) are the same animal, just a different name.

Technically cockerel is a male under 1 year. Roo is an adult male. Stag can refer to a castrated animal but the correct term for a castrated male chicken would be capon.

Same with females. Pullet is a young hen usually less than 1year.
