What's the difference?

What is the difference between a cock, roo, and a stag? Are they just the same thing?

I just have to brag on this too...........
My roo and hen I thought were OEGB are Dutch bantams!!! I was so surprised!
I know people on this message board are the only ones who can understand me getting all exited about this.

No difference really. Just different names you can call them. Like Mountain Lion and Puma (forgot the third name

) are the same animal, just a different name.

Technically cockerel is a male under 1 year. Roo is an adult male. Stag can refer to a castrated animal but the correct term for a castrated male chicken would be capon.

Same with females. Pullet is a young hen usually less than 1year.
