We are getting a shipment today of 100 meat chicks. Temps at night are 55-75 here in FL. I have chicken tractors with heat lamps in them. could I put them out right away or do need to wait a couple weeks? I usually start them in barn, but wondered if anyone has put them out on grass right away?

thanks

I would love to hear the experts on this too, Im thinking of having meat chicken as well in the near future.

The quickest I have gotten them out was 7 days.I think I would not go any quicker than that but I am in Ohio.

I've put mine out at a week old (the older they get the more they smell). Mine usually arrive mid-may and I live in Maine so it's pretty cool at night. The sides of my tractors are covered with plastic for the first four weeks, metal roofing over 2/3 of the top, and a heat lamp until they feather out
