Duck eggs? (in Virginia)
I had a lady leave me a message wanting to buy 6 dz fresh duck eggs... I have no clue what to charge, so I'm posting here for your input before I call her back this morning...

sorry I can't really help out seeings how I live in WI.
But around here I have seen eggs go in WIDE ranges of prices. It kind of depended on the breed mostly though.
I know my mom sells hatching eggs very cheap from what everyone has told her at sales, but those were only chicken hatching eggs.
Have you ever had to buy duck hatching eggs from someone else?? If so maybe start a base price around that.
If you have to ship them make sure to include that in the price.
Maybe E-Bay has some on there you could get a price range to start with.

Just some ideas, sorry probably wasn't much help.

Around here fresh duck eggs sell for $7.00 a doz. to eat. Does she want fresh to eat? Or does she want 6 doz to hatch?

I emailed by ex father in law in VA, he buys them for 6 to 8 depending on who he gets them from. He's in Chesterfield.

I sell mine for $4 a dozen. But they have to drive out here to get them. If I was closer in to town I would charge more.

A question to all of you who sell eating eggs - do you sell only unfertalized eggs? Do you keep your food egg producers away from your drakes? I have been wondering this - do people eat fertalized eggs?

I haven't seen anything about it in my reading.
