OMG beautiful.. and shes got a human arm too!Emmers. Emmers is both the rarest girl to exist, and a breed on her own. “Emmers” View attachment 3097362
Mine aren't at all and I have a lot of other roosters of different breeds. They all free range together during the day. I have read that the breed, hens included, can be murderously aggressive but I haven't seen it.Another breed I want. Are they aggressive with other roos?
That's what makes her one of a kind!OMG beautiful.. and shes got a human arm too!
All of my Spitz have spurs. I like how they don't grow into useless long hooks, but stay short and sharp.
That's really neat! Out of all of my hens, only two have spurs, with my Spitz being one of them. I just love how they have so many unique things about all the different breeds. After reading the experience from both of you, it seems like it's actually more common for Spitz hens to have spurs. Elvira has a nice really sharp spur on one leg and a small blunt spur on the other legBoth my girls do. Sharp things too. Their mix daught does not though
I think a lot of my hens have spur nubs. One of them has sharper spurs then my roo! That's really neat! Out of all of my hens, only two have spurs, with my Spitz being one of them. Everytime I see a picture of her, it's like I'm looking at my Judy BlumeMy Pyncheons View attachment 3097334
I noticed that more of my hens than I thought have spur nubs. Elvira's nub is a bit longer than the typical hen spur nub though. Her other leg does have a short sharp spur. That's so interesting that their spurs tend to stay short and sharp. Elvira is terrified of my big girls but tries to be a big bad *B* around my Bantams. So that short sharp spur makes me nervous when I start hearing Elvira growl at my Serama hen and my silly Serama growls right back and gets in her "scrappy stance"I think a lot of my hens have spur nubs. Thats my legOMG beautiful.. and shes got a human arm too!
