What's the strangest thing your chickens have eaten?

A bat. My husband was working on our shed a couple years ago and came across a bat sleeping under one of the boards. He freaked out and threw it into the pen with the hens and they got a hold of it, fought over it and ate before the bat could fly away. The poor bat...

They are crazy raptors! A bat though, that must have gotten gory

Well a bat is just a mouse with wings ha-ha the way they act when they see something like that is what gets me lol; it seems to trigger some primal urge to shred dinner...

The most shocking rodent eating episode I've seen was one of my Buttercups snagged a full grown mouse abdcran behind the doghouse, and swallowed it WHOLE. And she was just a chick herself! I panicked, she looked like she was choking on it, but she bobbed her head a couple times, gulped it down, and sauntered back to the flock, crop bulging...

Ugh, ew it was gross lol

But comparing that with how they pull and shred body parts everywhere, I prefer they go hide and swallow them whole ha-ha
