What's the youngest you've seen a rooster start crowing?

I"ve had one waited until he was 5 mos (Black SexLink) and a BO that was making a lot ofnoise by 4 weeks. The BSL ended up being mean and nasty and the BO totally friendly) Guess you never know.

I have a few "pullets" and one of them tried to crow yesterday,

they are about 7 weeks old. I have 3 ameracunas but one of them I am suspecting is actually a cockeral, so I am pretty sure that it was this one that tried to crow.

This winter I brooded baby chicks in my bedroom, so I KNOW when they start crowing.

I had some start at a week or two, others wait til 4 or 5 weeks, others don't crow for months. All depends on the ambition, I guess!

I've got an Orpington who 's been crowing like he's hot stuff for about a week now. He's aprox 10 weeks old!

They will try to crow as early as 1 week if their testosterone has kicked in. I had a week old chick try to crow this week. One of the Lav project orps I hatched from Jody and Charlie.

I had my black mottled frizzled Bantam cochin cockerel crow last year when he was 2-3 weeks old. What a silly little high pitched crow it was, too!

3 week old silver campine at about 5am one Saturday.

Scared teh willies outta me. Thought he was strangling. Nope. He was crowing and quite proud of himself.
