What's this?

This is a 3 year old "easter egger" who seems to be healthy, but we noticed this growth on the left side of her head today. It is soft to the touch, and didn't seem to cause her any discomfort when we touched it.





Any ideas of what it might be, and how to treat it?
 
That is a swollen earlobe that could be the result of an ear infection or a respiratory infection. An antibiotic such as amoxicillin may help with symptoms as well as cleaning the ear out to see if there is mites or gink in the ear canal. I would also examine your chicken for evidence of mites or ticks. Here are some good links, and pay attention to Dawg 53's advice in the first thread:
