So glad to finally be a part of the BYC community! I've visited this sight frequently for years. We finally took the plunge this spring with our first 8 girls! I had planned on 6 so start with but was overwhelmed by the ridiculously adorable fluff at the farm store. We have 2 buff orps, Honey & Sunflower. 2 australorps, Beezus & Matilda. 2 easter eggers, Hermione & Chewbacca. 1 barred rock & 1 SLW, Gidget & Winifred. The girls were a birthday gift for my 6 year old and she came up with all of their clever names! We just love our girls and find the we spend more time together outside just to be with them! So we get eggs eventually and spend more time outside; win-win! We just finished building our coop last night. Just need to put some vinyl flooring in and place it in the run. Time to get these biddies outside full time! Can't wait to post pics of our coop! I'm very proud of what we built and we only spent $200! Thrilled to be a chicken mama and a part of BYC!
